Whew! What a day. It started off with some asshat posting a comment on my HNT today that I look like a man. Really? I think sometimes people have no manners and/or their parents never taught them the Golden Rule. Either way, I think mean people suck. That’s okay - all the positive comments people left more than made up for it, John said I look hot, and Lochai said he liked the set.
I’m unbelievably excited to go to NYC next month. Thanks to Mr. Johnson!! I’ll be leaving Charlotte on Nov 13th and returning on Nov 16th to be in NYC for the Sex Blogger Calendar Launch Party. You should pre-order your calendar, because I have a feeling they are going to sell out. I’m giddy like a kid who finds out they are going to Disneyland. I’ve never been to NYC before, so it’s an adventure in and of itself, and then to meet these amazing people - men and women - is over the top unbelievably cool. Tess and Diva invited me to snuggle up between them in bed at the W one night, and I’m looking forward to that!! Who wouldn’t? Hot, sexy, and brainy = I’m in bloggerlove. I do hope to get together with some other people while I’m there - I’ve talked to a few other people who aren’t involved in the calendar project that I’m going to make it a point to meet. Expect at least a week’s worth of blogs and pictures from the adventure! It’s just over a month away, it’s going to drive me insane!
Other things coming up I plan to attend: Frolicon and Sex 2.0. I would love to go to ShibariCon, but I just don’t see how it’s going to happen. Frolicon is the weekend before Sex 2.0 and Sex 2.0 is the weekend of my wedding anniversary. It won’t be the first time we can’t celebrate on the proper day - when I worked in a boarding school I was on duty the entire weekend of our second anniversary. We’ll just celebrate another day. Anybody else going? It would be nice to connect.

This has to be a short post - it’s been a long day and I’m tired!! I’m thinking it’s time to get off and go to sleep. I ran 3.5 miles today, which is the farthest I’ve ever run at once. Tomorrow I’m going to run 3.6 miles. I’m an overachiever - I set a goal and I always have to go past it. Like this size 6 goal - I achieved it and now I want to be a size 4. I swear to all the Gods that are reading sex blogs, I will be a size 4 when I hit NYC! More yoga. More running. I have lost another 5 lbs., so I’m excited about those results. The closer I get to my goal (119 lbs.,) the more difficult it is to lose one single pound! When I reach 119, I will have lost 151 lbs. That’s fucking impressive! I have to say that it was really cool that one of the parents of a student I used to teach didn’t even recognize me.
It was a really good way to release some tension and stress and focus on the task at hand - my work for Fetlife. I consider it my primary job more and more every day. I don’t want to give up writing and doing promos, but Fetlife is clearly my primary job (buy an ad!)
I got a really neat note in my Fetlife.com inbox today from a (cute redheaded) guy who said, “…it was helpful to read your experiences as a bit of motivation, and to see that you DO look great after the weight loss.” That’s kind of cool. I’m glad to read that! It motivates me even more, too. Symbiosis.

A Good New Site:
Public Disgrace by Kink.com is really on the edge, literally - their first scene is fantasy rape and it is really hot. Keep in mind it’s fantasy, people - we all know real rape and fantasy rape are very separate things and consensual fantasy rape is a very common fantasy for many women like myself, who consider themselves to be feminists.
A Good Blog:
Skid Roche is self-described as: “The online home of writer Thomas S. Roche, author of crime-noir, fantasy, horror, and erotica stories. A Good Deal:
If you really want the Liberator Wedge/Ramp combo (like the one I reviewed) but you can’t quite slip it into your budget, take a look at their new product called, The Whirl. It is a really nice substitute for a wedge. It’s less expensive, but the quality is not cheaper. Seriously. I’m a true-blue fan of Liberator products and I specifically asked to test the Whirl and review it because I was thinking about your budget.
A Good (Sexy) Costume:
I’ve never gone to a Halloween party. Never. But I hope to one day, and if you happen to be going to one this year, you might be in the market for a sexy little costume. Coldplaying.com is the place to go if you happen to be like me and know that Chris Martin’s birthday is March 2nd. Yes, it’s for people who are truly obsessed enough to want to read all the latest news and I’m a nerd. I own ColdplayLiveArchive.com, remember. Don’t waste your time. I haven’t had a chance to upload any of the shows I have, but I think I’m close to 200 shows now, I have one from Zurich on the 28th of September that is amazing. But I digress - Coldplaying.com is the authority on Coldplay. They even have their own toolbar you can download to get the latest, breaking Coldplay news! (I know, I am pathetic).
A Good How-To Guide:

and I love it! I’ll write my own review of it, but this is how Amazon describes the book:

So I was talking to John today about Fetlife advertising, as I do pretty much every day, and I mentioned to him that two of the most common questions people ask me are, “What is John really like?” and “What is it like to work for Fetlife?” So I told him, and I’ll tell you, too: John is really exactly like he presents himself on his profile on Fetlife right down to the dorky hat. He is friendly, honest, and genuine, he is compassionate, and he really cares about keeping Fetlife for the community. He is also one of the smartest people I know. He is one of three people whose opinion I seek when something really matters to me. He is one of my best friends and I haven’t even met him. Working with him on Fetlife just seems very natural to me. As soon as I came to Fetlife I knew it was special and I had to get involved. As far as working for him - I think of it as working with him. I mean ultimately Fetlife belongs to John, but as with anything else on Fetlife, John always seeks input and feedback before he makes a decision, so I feel like we collaborate. I have the best job in the world. I work with a friend on a project that I believe in while wearing my pajamas and listening to Coldplay. How can you ask for more than that?
Oh, if you’re lucky you don’t have to ask - you just exist. In my inbox today were two images from Audacia Ray, proofs for the NYC Sex Blogger Calendar, and I got to give my input on which one to use. I’ve seen a few of the proofs now, and I can tell you, as soon as I get the green light to post a pre-order post, I’ll be setting you up to buy a calendar. Those pics are hot, and knowing that they are the women behind all that delicious smut makes it even hotter. I am not really a calendar buying kind of person, but I will definitely be buying a calendar, just to hang in my pseudo-office. Call me a fangirl. Go ahead. I invited it. I embrace it. How could I not be a fan of these 12 amazing women!?! They are exactly what I (and most bloggers) aspire to become. I feel very lucky just to know some of them and be involved from a distance on the project!
Nikki sent me a zip file of images from our shoot (Altered Aperture) last week. They are shocking to see — If I weren’t positive that we shot together last week, I would swear some of those shots aren’t me! I love some of the suspension bondage shots she got. I’ll have to share on CatalinaLoves.com over the next several weeks. I am trying to be greedy with them and not just publish them one after the other, day after day. So many people know Ms. Nikki Nefarious and they also ask me what she’s like. She is every bit as sweet and adorable as she looks, and she is every bit as serious as the rope marks left in my skin after those shoots. She’s little, but don’t underestimate her - she’s a really powerful person and one hell of a photographer!
Don’t forget about Lochai. I couldn’t leave him out. He is undeniably important to me. Today marks the end of his first full week at Hogtied.com and soon we should be seeing his influence there. Anybody who is friends with Lochai would agree, he is over the top fantastic to his friends. He is truly a man of integrity and I trust him completely. When he gives me his advice or opinion, it carries a lot of weight. On top of that he’s Lochai! Need I say more? Have I not publicly said a thousand times that I adore that man?
And now it’s time to get in the shower and get ready to go visit my friend, M, for our Friday night tradition.

The Viva la Vida tour is amazing and I’m sad and pouty that I don’t get to see them live while they are in the US.

I love working for Fetlife.com. I am going to be contacting event coordinators over the next several weeks to discuss advertising their event on Fetlife.com. It’s the perfect place to advertise for events because you can target by location, so your workshop in Charlotte, for example, could be targeted to North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennesee, and Georgia. Everybody who has advertised an event on Fetlife has said it was a good decision and they would do it again. Another group I’d like to reach is the circle of BDSM/Kink/Sex-Positive educators that are all over the world. Again, targeted marketing for workshops is a smart way to stretch marketing dollars. Anyway, I’ve got my work cut out for me because there are a Lot of events and a Lot of educators to get in touch with.
Marky is good to me - he found a Coldplay show from Germany 9/28/08 - yesterday! I had an interesting time trying to listen to it. The fact is I’ve listened to it three times now and I still haven’t heard it. I had too many interruptions all day, including a demanding preschooler who wanted to hear Barney over Chris Martin. How is it possible she came from my body? She (S) does know all of the Coldplay songs though, and either sings them or knows the right time to clap. It is very entertaining to pass along my obsession for Coldplay to my offspring. Even W thinks they don’t suck, though they are no Jonas Brothers, apparently.
Now, it is time to enjoy some time being a wife, to take a shower together and reconnect a little bit after a very stressful day. I also want to spend some time reading so that I can work on the book reviews I have lined up. I actually do read cover-to-cover every single book that I review, so it might take me a while, but I’d rather keep you waiting and give you the best (just like sex!)

Sometimes I love knowing a delicious secret. Sometimes secrets are a burden. In this case, it’s a burden.
I’m going to spend some time cleaning my house this weekend. I feel like I’ve spent so much time working that I haven’t taken care of myself as well as I should. It is Labor Day Weekend, as someone pointed out to me yesterday, and I have some things to take care of home. This weekend I’m going to write, read, watch tv, clean my house, watch Coldplay shows from last week I haven’t seen yet, catch up on projects already in progress, answer whatever emails I get, and put everything else on hold until Tuesday morning.
I took W to coffee today for an hour and just spent time talking about her week at school, just the two of us. It was nice to spend time alone together, no distractions. She is, of course, kicking ass at school. Spanish is very easy for her, obviously. Her year of Latin last year has made it easier for her to understand the concept of a 2nd person plural verb conjugation. Did I mention she had an A in Latin last year? Ok, bragging a bit, but what Mother can resist?
Blerg. I’m tired. I think I’m officially worn out. I need to recharge.

This Lolcat is For My Favorite Attorneyman, D - Have A Good Monday!
Seriously. I’ve lost track. I thought it was Monday on Friday and today I forgot it was Sunday until long after the Simpsons were over. I am busier than ever, which is a very good thing if you’re someone trying to run a business. Nobody wants to start a business and hear crickets. In fact, we’ve got so much on our plates that we’re probably going to leave a few blogs dormant. We considered selling the domains, but ultimately they are costing us nothing if they just sit there. There’s no sense in getting rid of them. In short, you won’t see much posted on MrandMrsKink.com or on CorsetandCollar.com, and you may have already noticed that I parked MommeDomme.com. There just simply isn’t enough time in the day to take good care of them. I do want to integrate part of MommeDomme into CatalinaLoves.com, but again- when is there time? It’s a good idea to RSS feed to them so you get updates as they happen.
So this blog is really not a “useful” blog in the big picture. It doesn’t have a motive. I don’t really sell anything here. I don’t really write sexy adventures or anything like that, but it is my personal journal in some ways. I don’t write my really personal stuff here, but it’s a good place to sort of debrief at the end of the day. It’s become a part of my bedtime routine that I enjoy - the opportunity to write freestyle without pressure to please an audience. Read it if you want or don’t. It’s not about readers, but just about writing. How liberating!
So basically here was my day: Lochai, Trufetish.com, and Fetlife.com. I slept in today - I went to bed around 4 am and I woke up at noon, the call that awoke me was Lochai. Off the top of my head I can’t even really recall what it was about. He is, of course, going crazy with wrapping up loose ends and moving to the other side of the country within one month and being ready to go to work. I do have to say that I am pretty excited to work so closely with two men that I respect and admire. They both have taught me a tremendous amount in a very short time. I also enjoy them both on a personal level, so it makes working so friggin’ hard fun!
How does Trufetish fit in there? I stayed up late and wrote my article to submit before the deadline. How about that? The deadline is the 26th and today is the (wait, let me check, I really don’t know) 25th! Wow. Big deal. I thought today was like the 22nd and I was really early. Not nearly as impressive, but it still counts. This month I wrote about roleplay. You’ll have to wait until it is published on Trufetish.com to read it. I’m curious to find out what people think about it.
So Lochai told me today to expect a package from Fed Ex this week. I Love Surprises! I hate them, and I love them at the same time. They drive me crazy, but it’s a good kind of crazy, like when you were a kid and it was December 23rd! It’s a good week for packages, actually. I’m expecting a few! It is so exciting! I love just getting a card in the mail, a package makes me jump up and down with joy. For real. I love them.
In other news the-f-mag.com contacted us today. They wrote that they stumbled upon Quid Pro Quo and were planning to write an article about our little empire. Neato. I’ll have to follow up on that tomorrow (today).
This week there is a lot on my plate - I have a lot of people to get in touch with, plenty to write, and I have raffle items that need to go to the post office. I am giving all of my clothes that are too big to my neighbor so I’m cleaning out my closet, literally, not in the Eminem kind of way. I think a lot of my friends are annoyed that I don’t have time to socially chat online very much anymore, but if I’m not incredibly disciplined about getting my work done, then it just adds up and freaks me out. So to my friends, please just know that I’m not ignoring you, we’re just working our asses off right now, trying to make the Fetlife Marketing Department a huge success while we continue to work our asses off for our other clients at Quid Pro Quo. This week that literally translates into working all day contacting various people for several projects, setting things up for various promos, having graphic design work outsourced, writing reviews, and then working at night on a new blog for Sgt. Major and fine tuning Lochai’s blog. I have the best job in the world.
Well, it’s 5:48 am, I just remembered that I need to set someone new up on the BestSexBloggers.com blog. A lovely blog, Bloody Laughter, was personally recommended by our own Essin’ Em. A superb blog. I’m excited to see what she posts on BestSexBloggers.com. Off I go, Chris Martin singing to me, to wave my magic wand and add a new contributor.

Yet another late night. It’s 5:21 am. I always like to keep track of what time I begin so I can see just how long I spend pondering my day. I mean I never sit here with a plan, I just start writing and then think about what I’ve been doing. See? It’s 5:32 am now and I just spent 11 minutes chatting with The Dude. I think I could be a more efficient job if it weren’t for Gchat because now it’s 5:39 am.
I spent almost all of my day doing admin stuff on BestSexBloggers.com, which is what I expected to happen on Day 2. I think we’re getting our kinks worked out. It’s coming together nicely. We are lucky that the best of the best continue to join us, writers and photographers. It’s very exciting to see my name there with theirs.
I had a really nice chat on the phone with Radical Vixen. It was, in a word, delightful.
Then I had a nice little text interchange with D.
Enjoyed a very sexy little Gchat with Mr. F, discussing our upcoming plans for a very kinky weekend. If it had worked out that I was in his neighborhood at the right time, we could have gotten together today, but… life.
While I was running errands today, Lochai called. So I’m sitting at my Cookie Friend’s house and my phone is ringing and I’m frantically trying to answer it, which is I think the first time that CF has seen me really freak out over a phone call. I’m a pretty cool Cat(alina). So out of the blue my phone is glitched, stuck, nothing I could do - couldn’t silence it, answer it, ignore it - nothing but sit and watch as Lochai’s name flickered on the screen. So I restarted my phone and called back and got voicemail. Aargh! So as I’m on the final stretch home, my phone rang again and this time it worked! As it turned out, he had just called to say Thank You. Just hearing him say it was all I needed. It means the world to me that I genuinely helped him.
I “met” Madison Young via email and I’m going to interview her and also she is sending me some DVD’s to review! I’m way excited for that! (Thanks for the introduction, Lochai!)
Lelo.com contacted me and asked me to review one of their products. I chose the Luna Beads. It seems kind of fun to have something like that to play with - and honestly, I love their vibrators, but I had to try this.
I made Twitter friends a while back with Rachel Kramer Bussel - she is the editor of Dirty Girls - the book I’m writing up for Seal Press on CatalinaLoves.com. I sent her a twit today and asked her if she’d do a short Q&A with me via email for the review and she said, “Sure!” So score one for Twitter!

A Good (Strap On) Dildo

A Good Educational Opportunity
Did you know that you can take free courses online from MIT (yes, that’s the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT). Well, kind of. Read carefully, but essentially they make their course materials available online and though you don’t get credit for it, you can learn for the sake of learning. Now here’s the cool thing, to me, anyway. I thought that MIT only offered courses in science and math. I was wrong. Here is the course description of the course I’m currently taking:
Este semestre la materia combina obras ya canonizadas de finales del siglo XIX y del XX con algunas obras de reciente aparición. De los géneros literarios, vemos poesía, el cuento corto, la novela y la autobiografía. También vemos una película de tema ficticio y dos documentales. El estudiante que se interese por hacerlo puede usar los materiales en la Reserva y en la red para familiarizarse con la historia literaria y cinematográfica de este período. Nuestro enfoque principal, sin embargo, será leer bien y de modo analítico, textos literarios de diferentes momentos históricos y culturas nacionales (e internacionales). Aunque discutiremos analíticamente las tres películas, su interés principal para nosotros será, en un caso, conocer el argumento ideológico de una novela muy famosa e influyente que, por falta de tiempo, no vamos a poder leer en sus totalidad, y en los dos otros casos, para contextualizar una autobiografía y tener un punto de comparación para estudiar cómo se puede reconstruir la memoria simultáneamente individual y colectiva. Otros temas, que se estudiarán en varias obras, serán el bilingüismo (español/inglés) en ciertos escritores hispanoamericanos contemporáneos, y el auge de la novela best seller en la América Hispana.
So, in case you can’t tell, that’s an advanced Spanish literature course. Who knew I could brush up on my primary field of study with free online courses from MIT?! I just found out recently, but I’m on it! The Catalina Downer Disclaimer: You might have to buy books and don’t forget that books are not free. Ever. So, though the courses are free, you can’t necessarily say that you can take any class you want for free. Sorry. But this is about as close as you can get!
A Good Corset (and lingerie)
Mio Destino is located in Europe, but delivers worldwide and has a domestic office. Their corsets are undeniably quality. You’re not buying an ebay corset, this is the one you’ve been saving up for. They aren’t so horribly expensive that you can’t afford it unless you’re married to a very wealthy international finance attorney, however, they’re not cheap either. The selection is unbelievable - corsets by designer, shape, by fabric, corsets to wear out, bridal corsets, underbust corsets, and corset skirts. They are the way to go if you’re in the market for that special one.
A (PERFECT) Album
Viva la Vida by Coldplay is amazing. Brian Eno produced it, so when I first heard it, I rejected it stating simply, “I’m not interested in listening to another U2 album.” What a bitch! Now, I come back with my official opinion - “This is the best Coldplay album yet.” You must listen to it through headphones. That’s my only caveat. It sounds good over speakers, and it sounds great in the car, but there is something special about listening to it in the headphones, like being able to hear Chris quietly count off. Also, I own the official album and then I also have the special Marky D. Sade found this two weeks before it was released version. The difference is that I have two extra tracks - Lost (acoustic) and Lovers in Japan (acoustic). The trick is that you have to listen to the album, looped, without the two extra tracks. Let song 10 fade into song 1. I won’t give it away here, but just do it. It’s neato. I think my favorite song right now is Strawberry Swing. It’s a great way to start the day - Chris Martin telling you it’s such a perfect day.
